Du Mont was an electrical engineer and television pioneer who worked for the Westinghouse Lamp Company, 1924-1928, and the DeForest Radio Company, 1928-1931, before establishing his own firm, Du Mont Laboratories Inc., to manufacture cathode ray tubes.
